Run for the Animals!

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary hosted its 5^th annual "Run for the Animals!" The 5K run and 1 mile fun walk was a fundraiser dedicated to supporting the life saving work Poplar Spring does everyday. From the warm up, running and walking on the scenic trails, the dog and people raffles, the prizes, and the abundance of food, a good time was had by all. The race was held at Wheaton Regional Park in Wheaton, Maryland. Although dogs could not participate in the run, they were more than welcome to come out and join the 1 mile walk.

Back by popular demand! The Sergeant's Program was there to lead our runner’s and walkers in a pre-race warm-up!

Registration fee was $20.00 for the 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk prior to May 1, 2008. Beginning May 1, 2008 the registration fee was $25.00, and $28.00 on the day of the race.

Attention Walkers: For those walkers interested in a longer walk they were able to choice either the 1 mile walk or the alternate 1.7 mile walk.
