To ensure fun and safety for all, NO DOGS at any event that is held at the sanctuary, please! Events will be held rain or shine, and all proceeds benefit the rescued animals. Run for the Animals!Sunday, May 19, 2013 Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is hosting its 10th annual “Run for the Animals!” on Sunday, May 19, 2013. The 5K run and 1 mile fun walk will be held in Wheaton Regional Park. The event is a fundraiser dedicated to supporting the life saving work Poplar Spring does everyday. This year's course has been modified so that the first two miles are flat with a beautiful run through Brookside Gardens! Montgomery County Farm TourSaturday, July 27, 2013 Come on out and meet the animals and enjoy hay rides, ice cold lemonade, veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs. Shop for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and handmade crafts in our gift shop, and for hidden treasures at our giant yard sale in the carriage barn. Sixteenth Annual Open House and FundraiserSunday, October 6, 2013 Please bring a friend and join us to help raise much needed funds for the rescued animals! Enjoy an educational and entertaining afternoon with delicious food, a live band, silent auction, clowns and face painting for the kids, and an opportunity to visit with the Sanctuary's many rescued residents. No specific fee to attend, but donations will be accepted throughout the day of the event. RSVP requested. Thanksgiving with the TurkeysSaturday, November 23, 2013 Come celebrate Thanksgiving WITH the turkeys - join our friendly turkeys and all their friends in celebrating a cruelty-free Thanksgiving potluck. Please bring a vegan (no meat, dairy, or eggs) dinner or dessert item to serve 8. $10.00 suggested donation to benefit the animals. No charge for children under 16.
