To ensure fun and safety for all, NO DOGS at any event that is held at the sanctuary, please! Events will be held rain or shine, and all proceeds benefit the rescued animals. Come to Great Sage Restaurant and help the animals!Sunday, April 29, 2012 Great Sage, located in Clarksville, MD, is generously donating a percentage of their profits on Sunday, April 29th to benefit the rescued animals at Poplar Spring. This wonderful all vegan, organic restaurant also serves a delicious brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. So come on out and enjoy a great meal and help the animals too!
Run for the Animals!Sunday, May 20, 2012 Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is hosting its 9th annual “Run for the Animals!” on Sunday, May 20, 2012. The 5K run and 1 mile fun walk will be held in Wheaton Regional Park. The event is a fundraiser dedicated to supporting the life saving work Poplar Spring does everyday.
Montgomery County Farm TourSaturday, July 28, 2012 Come on out and meet the animals and enjoy hay rides, ice cold lemonade, veggie burgers and veggie hot dogs. Shop for t-shirts, sweatshirts, and handmade crafts in our gift shop, and for hidden treasures at our giant yard sale in the carriage barn.
Fifteenth Annual Open House and FundraiserSunday, October 7, 2012 Please bring a friend and join us to help raise much needed funds for the rescued animals! Enjoy an educational and entertaining afternoon with delicious food, a live band, silent auction, clowns and face painting for the kids, and an opportunity to visit with the Sanctuary's many rescued residents. Colleen Patrick Goudreau, vegan cookbook author, will be our keynote speaker. No specific fee to attend, but donations will be accepted throught the day of the event. RSVP requested.
Thanksgiving with the TurkeysSaturday, November 17, 2012 Come celebrate Thanksgiving WITH the turkeys - join our friendly turkeys and all their friends in celebrating a cruelty-free Thanksgiving potluck. Please bring a vegan (no meat, dairy, or eggs) dinner or dessert item to serve 8. $10.00 suggested donation to benefit the animals. No charge for children under 16.
